Children/Teens Psychotherapy
Young children and adolescents undergo significant changes and transitions in their lives. Friendships, entering adolescence, exploring identity and self/body-image are common themes in this age group. Other times, a health issue, a loss in the family or developmental trauma might occur.
I offer individual and joint sessions with parents/carers to support children to express their feelings and thoughts, to communicate their needs and to strengthen the child-parent/carer relationship.
Sometimes, families benefit from psychoeducational support and/or consultation around themes such as emotional outbursts, peer pressure, or setting boundaries. These themes may also be explored within the therapy sessions.
I invite children to use the therapy space to talk, move, and create artwork and stories around the themes they want to explore in an environment that feels caring and supportive.
